I AM amazed at the testimonies of Christians who escape disasters, as attributing it to their faith in God. There was a tornado back home, and several people died. The response to their own survival was that their belief spared them. The hypocrisy of that is that they judge those who died as not having faith, or having less faith than them.
Some of these same people have had family members and friends, even parents or spouses, who believed just like them, and even prayed more than them, and still died of cancer, organ failure, and other diseases. So what? Did their faith fail? Were they not good enough to have lived without illness, or avoid death in natural disasters?
Faith is the most divisive concept known to man. Faith is borne out of the ego, and causes men to see themselves as right and good, and those not possessing the same faith as wrong and evil. It is faith that instigates wars, provokes murders, and instigates the pillaging of nations. All because some people have this idea that their faith justifies them, while others are disqualified from liberty and justice because they don’t have faith.
Well, it’s high time we awaken from the illusion of faith, and return to the knowledge of self. Only that knowledge is able to restore the love that the world is so desperately in need of to enjoy the peace and joy we have all been created for.
